Battlefield is a series of video games that are published by EA and developed by DICE and Visceral Games (separately from each other). The games focus mainly on large scale war between various factions across the world, some real,.. others not. Players get to use many weapons to achieve one goal, utter maybe and wanton murder of everyone not on their current team. Which in my humble opinion is awesome. There are many competitors e.g. Call of Duty, Red Orchestra, Frontlines, Brothers in arms etc and some of them like the COD series have achieved a high player sales count and a high release count just like battlefield, reminding some of us of the ever present madden football games or the NHL games. New year, new COD/BF with the same ol’ same ol’ feel.

To break the monotony EA released Battlefield Hardline. Which prompted a loud “Why?” from many fans. Since EA didnt know the answer either they chose to shrug their shoulders, and go back to WW I / II genre of game based large battles, and now we have a reboot (?) of the series as Battlefield 1, with many fans rejoicing. An ever popular concept with the movie industry, video game companies have decided to get in on the action also, with Call of duty putting out Modern Warfare Remastered and now EA putting out Battlefield 1. The game is set in real world, and no alternate histories or nazis on the moon are involved.

As pointed out by the timer under the video, the release date is October 21 across the board for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. The guy on the cover with a cape is a Harlem Hellfighter. Guess he hadn’t seen the PSA about  NO CAPES!…..  The Harlem Hellfighters aka the Black Rattlers aka the Men of Bronze were the 369th Infantry Regiment, made up mostly of Black and Puerto Rican enlistees. They never lost a man to capture, a foot of land or a trench to the enemy and were the longest serving American unit in the war.

We are all awaiting more info but so far it seems, there will indeed be a single player mode. Whats in it or how expansive will it be? its anyones guess at this point, considering how … lacking the single player was compred to the multiplayer for the last couple of installments of Battlefield (once again ignoring hardline since… seriously EA what the hell was that? did you have a game kicking around the warehouse and decided to re-brand it as a BF title?.. o was that it? well that does explain a few things.).  PS YES! there are horses in this game that you can ride! I’m gonna trample me some tank riders!
