[The rumor mill] HTC Perfume M10 possible specs leaked online

HTC may not have had the best 2015, but things can change if they manage to pull out a great flagship this year. HTC Perfume M10 could be that success… if luck is on the OEM’s side. Rumors are starting to spread on the Interwebz, and some say that Perfume is M10, the 2016 flagship for HTC. It should have the best specs ever seen into a phone made by the manufacturer.       According to @evleaks, AKA Evan Blass, HTC will have the same AMOLED display it has been sporting on the A9. The display will be 5.1-inch large and it will have 1440p resolution. On the inside you could find a Snapdragon 820, 4GB of RAM, plus 32GB of storage. HTC is rumored to return to its UltraPixel sensor on the rear camera, but its resolution will be boosted to 12MP.   HTC M10 should have a fingerprint sensor as well, and it will be settled on the front of the device. When it comes to the OS, M10 should launch with Android 6.0.1 with Sense 8 UI, making it available for fingerprint support from the OS as well. One interesting change is the lack of Boomsound speakers. That’s all for the leaks and rumors so far. HTC is expected to drop some new info regarding their new devices sometime this spring.   Source: AndroidPolice

[The rumor mill] LG G5 to have ticker display, Magic Slot and Snapdragon 820

Samsung Galaxy S7 rumors are abounding right now, but we must not forget other OEMs launching devices next year – LG will soon make announcements regarding LG G5, its G4 follow-up. According to recent reports, the new device will bring some features from G4 and some from LG V10 as well, in the hopes of creating a perfect flagship.   Rumors and ideas   LG G5 is rumored to have a full metal body – an improvement from the usual plastic-based devices it has been rolling out so far. The smartphone is said to have a secondary ticker display to go with the primary 5.3-inch display, kinda like the one you can find on the V10. The second display can be used for quick access to some settings, apps and notifications without having to turn your primary display on.   LG G5 is rumored to run on the latest form of Android on a Snapdragon 820 plus 3GB of RAM. No news on possible expandable storage or on primary storage options yet.   The most curious mention is that of a Magic Slot – feature which allows the device to add more hardware modules. This could be useful with a detachable keyboard, a VR headset or other accessories.   We are close to a new LG launch and a new LG flagship. Would you like a G5 dressed in metal? [The rumor mill] Samsung Galaxy S7 to have 5.7″ display with 12MP camera

Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to launch in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and this can only mean that rumors regarding the device are starting to pour in. A photo recently posted online shows some of the specifications for the device – one of the few variants Samsung will reportedly launch.       If this photo is true, Samsung Galaxy S7 would be a replacement for Galaxy S6 Edge +. The new smartphone has a 5.7-inch 2560×1440 display but we do not know yet if the said display will be flat or curved.   Some rumors put the original S7 at a flat 5.2-inch display with the Edge variant sporting a 5.5-inch curved display.   Among the leaked specs we found are the 12.2 MP rear camera and a 5MP frontal snapper. This is a drop from the 16MP sensor on the Galaxy S6, but the decrease could be explained by a better-quality sensor with larger pixels that would perform better in low-light conditions. S7 is also said to sport 4GB of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip. Possibilities also include a pressure-sensitive screen, a retina scanner and an USB Type-C port.   Source: The Verge

[The rumor mill] Xiaomi Mi 5 to have physical button with fingerprint sensor

Xiaomi Mi 5 will launch next year and this promises to be the first Xiaomi device to have a physical home button attached to a fingerprint sensor. Rumors are starting to run amok and it appears that Mi 5 will have a Qualcomm ultrasonic fingerprint scanner attached to it. Even if this sensor can usually be used via the display, Xiaomi chose to use the sensor in a physical home button because the vendor may have alerted the OEM of stability issues. The rumors also suggest that the device will have a Force Touch display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to launch running on some form of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. A leak suggests that the device will launch on January 21st and it will become available in February. A Plus variant could also launch sometime soon and it should have a bigger screen than Mi 5. [The rumor mill] Xiaomi said to work on Linux-powered laptop

Xiaomi is rapidly becoming one of the most popular OEMs on a global level, and it is accordingly spreading its wings outside the mobile spectrum. It appears that the Manufacturer is seriously planning to get on the laptop business with a Linux OS powered device that should launch in 2016.     The rumor mill does not go in deep detail yet, but it appears that Xiaomi will get a laptop out in the second quarter of 2016. It may be a Chromebook or a Windows-powered laptop but it could have an all-metal build for all we know. The image above shows a possible device similar to Apple’s MacBook Air. It will probably be targeted at the budget spectrum of the niche market since that would be the best move the manufacturer could do right now.   The Xiaomi laptop is rumored to have a 12.5 to 13.3-inch display and it should be an ultra-thin portable laptop with a metal finish. Some rumors say it will run on a Linux OS version , but things can change. The Chrome-OS laptop could be a better choice since it would appeal to a larger audience.   In the meantime, Huawei, Xiaomi’s biggest Chinese rival, is said to work on its own laptop destined for business professionals. We are not sure these rumors about laptops coming from OEMs renowned for their mobile devices are real but we can only wait and see. We shall know for sure when either of the two companies decides to make some official […]
