UK HTC One M8 and M9 get update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow

HTC One M8 and M9 from the UK are getting an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. HTC has promised fast updates for its devices, but the action is not as easy to do as the announcement. Every country has to wait its turn because these things take time. Now it is time for the UK HTC One M8 to get its update.   https://twitter.com/HTC_UK/status/689061850550550528     The announcement came on Twitter from the HTC UK account and it appears that, in the next 48 hours, all One M8 devices from the country will be updated. The One M9 will be updated soon after too. This makes last year’s flagship the first to receive an update to Android’s most recent OS, ahead of this year’s one. HTC One M9 from Verizon gets Android 5.1 update

HTC One M9 from Verizon got an update to Android 5.1 plus some security changes and upgrades along the way. Mo Versi, the VO of HTC, released the info on his Twitter account yesterday and here is what you will be getting out of this.   https://twitter.com/moversi/status/634105557234769920     Apart from the Android 5.1 update, your One M9 will be getting additional LTE bands for roaming plus Stagefright patches. After the install, users will get the same Android 5.1 improvements that other smartphone users have been enjoying so far. Of course, you will also get the revamped do-not-disturbed settings and the Stagefright patches.   HTC One M9 has support for Verizon’s LTE bands and this OTA will enable a few more for roaming needs. The new bands are 3 for 1800 MHZ, and 7 for 2600 MHz. These will basically be useful for Africa, the Middle East, Central and South America, Asia and Europe.   Source: @moversi

HTC One M8 will get Android M update, HTC execs say

If you have an HTC One M8 lying around wishing you got some love from the devs at Android, wait no longer because it’s been made official that the 2014 flagship will get updated to the M Android version; when it launches that is. Mo Versi is the one who made the announcement in a response to a Twitter question, so it’s as official as it gets.       Previously, Jeff Gordon, another executive from HTC, announced that M will be released for One M9 and M9+ with more devices to follow. It appears that last year’s flagship will be one of these followers, as expected. If the launch of Android M will follow the same timeline as Lollipop, it should arrive sometime around the end of the year, when M8 will be almost 2 years old. Considering the fact that HTC usually updates its devices as old as two years, M8 is clearly covered. Source: Twitter via AndroidPolice
