Burger King gives free smartphones on-contract for promoting its new app

Burger King is taking over the world, including the virtual side of things! In order to promote its new application, Burger King is trying the smartphone retail market as well. On its website, customers can buy mid-level smartphones for free if they get a contract too, just don’t expect spectacular devices.

At the moment, the offer includes Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One E8, LG G3 Vigor, LG G2 and One Remix. The devices are available for purchase on-contract on some US carriers including Sprint and Verizon. This is a very interesting move on Burger King’s part; all we can ask ourselves now is if we’d like a Coke light with that.

LG G3 Vigor exclusive on AT&T – what to expect from the handset?

LG G3 Vigor is the rebranded version of G3 Beat and it seems that the device IS an LG G3 with a twist. The device has back-facing buttons, a larger display and a neat camera, but it does not compare to the best resolution ever found in an US device at the moment: 2K, held by LG G3.

LG G3 Vigor hardware specs:

  • 5” 720×1280 IPS LCS screen at 294 ppi
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad core processor
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • 8 MP pack camera with 1080p and 30fps video options.

The device has the Laser Auto Focus tech and it seems it will sell at $49.99 USD with a 2 year AT&T contract or $334.99 USD off-contract. The device will be available starting September 26.
