Redmi Note 3 launched – mid-range specs with premium finish

A few months after launching Redmi Note 2, Xiaomi is already back on the horse and it launches the Redmi Note 3, a different mid-range smartphone with decent specs. The best thing about this devices is its price: $141, but it is only sold in China at the moment.       Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is a pretty cool device, with a big-ish screen and upgradeable RAM. Xiaomi to release MIUI 7 OTA starting October 27th

Xiaomi devices may not be at the top of the mobile chain in the US or in Europe but they are among the most popular smartphones in Asia. All Xiaomi devices run on MIUI, a build of Android that is now getting an update. MIUI 7 will roll out on supported devices starting October 27th via an over the air update. This version of OS will bring about tons of changes and improvements while maintaining the KitKat or Lollipop base, depending on the device it goes on.     MIUI 7 has been in beta tests for more than a month now, so we can tell you a bit about what you will be getting with this update if you own a Xiaomi device. The new OS version will extend your battery life by 10% and it will speed up performance by 30%. You will also get system UI themes and a theme builder spiced up with a bunch of downloadable themes. Among the improvements you can also count kids modes, call videos for contacts, and facial recognition, plus an enhanced gallery.       The MIUI 7 update will come via OTA on devices such as Mi4i, Redmi 2, Redmi 1S and Redmi Note Pro. Xiaomi Mi 4c to launch on September 22nd

Xiaomi is always up to something and this time it’s the Xiaomi Mi 4c, the newest iteration in the Mi 4 line. The newest smartphone is expected to launch on September 22nd if we are to believe a Weibo post. Speculations regarding the specs of this new Xiaomi device are running rampant but it appears that most are correct, since now we can share some of them straight from the manufacturer’s forums. The device is expected to launch in two variants, a 16GB storage version with 2 GB of RAM and a 32GB storage version with 3GB of RAM. This is official information you can also find on the Mi forum.     When it comes to expectations, Xiaomi Mi 4c is supposed to come bearing a 5 -inch full HD display with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing snapper. Under the hood you should find something like a Snapdragon 808 SoC which has a hexa-core processor.   When it comes to connectivity, the rumored USB Type-C connector should be found somewhere on then device along with a microUSB to USB-Type C adapter for your convenience. The device should run on the most recent MIUI version, which is MIUI 7. The battery is rumored to be a 3,080 mAh battery. Xiaomi to launch MIUI 7 and Mi 5 phone on August 13

Xiaomi just confirmed that MIUI 7 will be unveiled at its upcoming event scheduled for August 13th. The new Xiaomi Mi5 is rumored to launch at the same event.  According to the manufacturer’s forum, the new OS will be revealed at the New Product Launch Event that will take place at the China National Convention Center.         MIUI was launched over a year ago and it has become rather popular because it lets users customize features other device users cannot change on their OS. It looks a bit different, but in a good way, and most users who want a different experience than all the iOS, Android and CyanogenMod devices out there will definitely choose this Android-based OS.   Xiaomi MI tablet running on Windows 10?   The Microsoft Windows 10-based Xiaomi Mi tablet is supposed to make its appearance known on August 13 as well. This new tablet is said to run on the new Windows 10 and not on the usual Android MIUI OS. It is yet unclear if the Windows OS will be the PC version or a mobile edition.   The Xiaomi Mi 5 is rumored to have a 5.2” display with Gorilla Glass protection and 2.5D edges and it will run on a Snapdragon 810 processor with an Android 5.1-based interface and 14MP back camera and a 13MP front camera.
