LG announces K10 and K7 – new mid-range smartphones with premium-like features

LG just announced two new budget-friendly devices, just a few hours before the official debut of this year’s CES in Las Vegas. The K series, a new line of smartphones coming from the South-Korean OEM, uses the advanced camera technology and the UX features from LG’s more expensive devices. The first two K smartphones, K10 and K7, will officially launch at CES in a few days.     Design-wise, these smartphones are the first to use a “glossy pebble design language with a contemporary stylish look” and a curved finish. LG is also using its 2.5D Arc Glass to further improve the buttonless style that made them famous. There are no buttons on the sides of the devices, of course, as all of the more resend LG smartphones have been button-free on the sides, with the power button and volume rockers sitting on the upper back side.   K10 Key Specifications:* Display: 5.3-inch HD In-cell Touch Chipset: LTE: 1.2GHz or 1.3GHz Quad-Core / 1.14GHz Octa-Core 3G: 1.3GHz Quad-Core Camera: LTE: Rear 13MP / Front 8MP or 5MP 3G: Rear 8MP / Front 8MP or 5MP Memory: RAM: 2GB / 1.5GB / 1GB ROM: 16GB / 8GB Battery: 2,300mAh Operating System: Android 5.1 Lollipop Size: 146 x 74.8 x 8.8mm Network: LTE / 3G Colors: White / Indigo / Gold Others: 2.5D Arc Glass / Gesture Shot / Tap and Shot / Gesture Interval Shot*         K7 Key Specifications:* Display: 5.0-inch FWVGA In-cell Touch (LTE) / On-cell Touch (3G) Chipset: LTE: 1.1GHz Quad-Core 3G: 1.3GHz […]

LG G Vista 2 – mid-range smartphone with bigger screen and a stylus

LG G Vista 2 is a stylus-packed smartphone announced by the South-Korean OEM that is supposed to attack the mid-range market this winter. This is the bigger yet weaker flagship version released earlier this year and it is dedicated to people who want a good LG but can’t pay the full flagship price. In the US the device will be sold exclusively by AT&T and it will have a stylus.       This year’s LG G Vista 2 has a 5.7” display powered by a Snapdragon 617 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 13MP rear-camera and a microSD card. All of these specs are powered by a 3000 mAh battery. The device is coming out with Android 5.1 sadly, so no Marshmallow yet.   G Vista 2 is a step down from the 2015 flagship, LG G4, which sports a Snapdragon 808 processor, plus 3GB of RAM, and a 16MP camera. The QHD display is, of course, replaced by an HD one, even if it is 0.2” bigger in the case of the Vista 2. Do not expect the same sharpness or resolution though; technology is complicated as is, and a cheaper device will not have the same hardware as a much more expensive one.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gie_6GDc0Rc     LG G Vista 2 is not a cheap smartphone nonetheless, as buying one of these in the US will require you to pay no less than $450. You can also sign a two-year contract with AT&T and put down $50 to get […]

LG V10 officially announced: creativity measured in displays and cameras

LG V10 was finally officially launched, and the device looks better than any LG smartphone could… depending on who you ask. The previous leaks were all (mostly) true and the device looks like a good contender on the flagship market. The dual front facing camera and the secondary display are all there, but what do they really mean? Let’s see!       What innovations does LG V10 bring to the table?   The key-points for this smartphone are the dual-front shooters and the secondary display, the front cameras are destined for 120-degree selfies because they can capture wide-angle photos with a minimum of distortion. They can also be used in creating a tri-view video where all three cameras can record images at the same time.   Secondary display – how does it work?   LG V10 was heavily teased in a video where a young lady has her bangs chopped off in a high-fashion manner. It appears that that is how the secondary display is attached to the primary one, right next to the dual cameras on the front. It can always be used , even when the primary screen is off, or it can be programmed to at as a dedicated launching area for some apps which works even when the main screen is on. The secondary display can also be useful inside specific apps like in the camera app, where you can get some controls on the mini-display.       LG made a point out of using the secondary screen as […]

Nexus 5X official specs shortly listed on Amazon

Breaking news! Amazon was kind of excited today and they possibly accidentally released details regarding Nexus 5X. The three early listings have already been pulled but the “damage” was done. There’s a new and biggish list of specs for the device and we also know what shades we will be able to get it in: Ice Blue, Quartz White and Charcoal Black.     The new LG Nexus 5X will probably be the more affordable Nexus 2015 device, whereas the Huawei one should be a bit more expensive, at least according to previous leaks. We can only hope that this device is more in line with the original Nexus 5, the perfect melange of aesthetics, size, performance and price. No news on the pricing though, but we may be looking at an affordable flagship.   Display 5.2-inch IPS LCD (1920×1080, 423ppi) OS Android v6 Marshmallow Processor 1.8Ghz Snapdragon 808 processor (MSM8992) Camera 12.3MP rear camera; 5MP front camera Battery 2700mAh RAM 2GB Storage 16GB SIM Nano Dimensions 154 x 10 x 76mm, 177g Model LG-H791 Colors Quartz White, Ice Blue, and Charcoal Black Included Phone, charger, earphones, quick start guide   Source: Droid-life
