Sprint’s LG G Flex 2 is getting an OTA to Android 5.1.1 and you may have already gotten it … or not. It all depends on the wave your device is syncing with. The OTA itself began a week ago, but in the meantime the limitedness of it wore off and it became a wide-spread phenomenon.
This update brings the device to build number LS996ZV6; you should find it in your update menu as we speak. 5.1.1 for G Flex 2 presents factory reset protection and the usual Lollipop features (improved notifications and interruption settings).
LG G Flex 2 is on its way to AT&T. The smartphone will apparently launch online and in stores on April 24th, and the curved device will sell for $709 full price or $300 with a two-year contract.
LG’s second curved smartphone is finally making its way at AT&T at a rather spicy price, at least compared to other US carriers. If you buy the device full price, you can spread the payment in 30 pieces of $23.64, or choose a 24-month payment plan of $29.55 a month or 20 payments of $35.45.
The only upside to this price is that AT&T offers the G Flex 2 with 3 GB of RAM, whereas Sprint is giving the 2GB version at $199.99 with a 2-year contract.

LG G Flex 2 is now live on Sprint and you can clearly get it at a great price if you choose a two-year commitment. One of the few curved-screen phones on the market, G Flex 2 has a 5.5” AMOLED 1080p screen with a banana curve and you can choose it in Volcano Red exclusive shade or regular Silver.
LG’s curved smartphone is also one of the first devices out there to ship with a Snapdragon 810 processor, which could either confirm the heat issues or deny them completely. The phone design remains flexible and the scratch resistant coating on the back is much more resistant and self-healing than the previous model version.
Sprint offers the LG G Flex 2 on a two-year contract for $199.99, and Easy Pay allows you to pay $21 per month for 24 months.
LG G Flex 2 is not the only new device of 2015 from the South Koreans as LG Spirit 4G enters the market. The device was just announced and it also has a curved screen with Lollipop OS at launch. And that’s about all the excitement about it…well, maybe the mid-range position will be endearing to many possible customers too.
LG Spirit 4G does not mention flexibility, which means it will likely not have the healing and bending power G Flex 2 has. The 4.7” 720p IPS LCD screen is standard and is covered by curved glass covers. Under the chassis you will find a Snapdragon 410 with 1 GB of RAM and a 8MP camera with a 2100 mAh battery. It will run on the updated Android 5.0.1 with LG’s skin.
The device remains an LG branded product with the rear-placed buttons and a clear screen. It is rather thick at 9.95mm even if it has the smallish battery. There is no known price for the Spirit 4G as of yet and it will be first launched in the UK.
LG G Flex 2 has begun the global revolution. You can now get the device if you live in the US, in UK, France, Singapore, Germany and Hong Kong for starters. The device has been available for pre-order on Sprint for a few days now, and AT&T will sell it “Soon” as a Grey exclusive since the Red version is exclusive to Sprint. It appears that US Cellular will offer the curved device soon, although it does not even appear on the website yet.
In the UK, customers will be able to get the device for Vodafone, O2 and EE and they can pre-order it in black only – which is the dark grey color. Shopping begins on March 16th and pricing sits somewhere around the spicy £800.
LG G Flex 2 will be hitting more markets in due time, and it appears that more markets will receive this curved delight as opposed to the first G Flex iteration. Below you can even see the official LG G Flex 2 story where you will find out why the device was brought to life and what its benefits of the curve are: precisely beauty, durability and comfort.
In short, G Flex 2 has a Snapdragon 810 processor with a 1080p display, 2 or 3 GB of RAM and 16/32 GB of internal storage. It has a 13 MP main camera with a 2.1 MP secondary snapper all powered by a 3.000 mAh battery.
LG G Flex 2 is now available for pre-order on Sprint, and things are just getting started. The new curved phone from LG is now available for pre-purchase and Sprint is throwing in a free Quick Circle case for the handset measuring around $59.99.
Why should you consider the new G Flex? Because it’s new, curved and an upgrade from the first curved phone version meaning some mistakes were definitely remedied while others emerged. G Flex 2 has a large 5.5” curved 1080p OLED screen powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor with 2 or 3 GB of RAM according to what storage version you choose (16 or 32 GB stock) and a 3000 mAh battery to keep it all together. It also has a 13 MP primary camera and a 2.1MP front camera. It runs on Android 5.0 and it supports all Sprint LTE bands.
The full price is $504 and you can pay for 24 months with $21 payment a month. If you choose to pair it with a two-year contract, the price will be dropped to $199.99.
Pre-ordered phones should arrive around March 13th and you can choose a volcano red or platinum silver coating to go with it.
