Moto X Style international edition gets Android 6.0 OTA in Europe

Earlier this week Motorola started to rollout the Marshmallow update to the Moto X Pure Edition. Now it’s time for Moto X Style to get the same treatment. Motorola’s newest flagship got the code Style for the international market and, according to some UK users, it is already getting an update to Android 6.0.

The rollout is most probably triggered by territory and it should reach Western Europe exclusively at the moment. Other territories will follow soon. If the update is the same as the US version for the Moto X Pure Edition, it should have somewhere around 650MB and it should provide the regular stock Android service.

If you have a Moto X Style and you receive the OTA alert, let us know in the comments below where you are from. This way we can keep track of where the update is heading.

AT&T’s Motorola Moto X first gen is denied OTA to Android 5.1

If you have an AT&T Motorola Moto X first gen device and you were eager to get an update to Android 5.1, you should know that it is not going to happen soon.

Moto X

The US carrier approved the OTA on July 7th, but they changed their minds yesterday and stopped the update from happening. This is supposed to be a temporary halt, and there are no available details regarding the reason for the suspension.

This update was supposed to be a huge jump from Android 4.4.4 to 5.1, but it appears that Moto X first gen owners from AT&T will have to wait a little longer. Motorola had enough time to figure out the kinks so maybe when it comes, this update will not sport many many bugs. Hang in there, folks, Motorola and AT&T will figure out what is wrong soon.

The announcement was made official on Twitter yesterday by Mo Versi, the HTC Vice President of Product Management.

The camera improvements include noise reduction and accurate colors production in extreme lighting conditions. This should mean that users unimpressed by the camera issues on HTC One M9 may get a better experience now. The rest of the update is the usual Android improvements we already know and love.
