New ZeroLemon battery cases available for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus

Do you like fat, ugly and rugged battery cases? Neither do we, but hey, they increase the amount of time we spend with our devices before we must relinquish them to a charger! ZeroLemon is known for making such external battery cases and this time the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus are the ones that will be able to be adorned with such accessories.     Samsung’s flagship devices are thus getting 8500 mAh battery cases which would make the devices last three times longer than with their regular 3000 mAh batteries (in addition to their own run time). Some energy will be lost however, since external battery systems usually present some level of electrical inefficiency.   The cases include the usual cutouts and tabs for your essential smartphone functions and you also get a pass-through charging port that supports Qualcomm Quick Charging 2.0 only available for the phone battery. The cases also present a LED charge indicator and a power button. You can charge other devices from the external battery as well.   Both cases triple the thickness of the devices, bringing them to a measure of 21.1mm. But that is a concession you must make if you want your Samsung device to last “forever” in terms of battery life. The cases cost $59.99 each and you can purchase them from Amazon. Whether this is a price you are willing to pay for a tripling of your Samsung Galaxy Note 5 or S6 Edge Plus battery life, it is up to […]

Galaxy Note 5 gets official TWRP support starting today!

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is already getting official TWRP support starting today. The GSM version is first in getting this type of support as we already know that most experimented users will bake their devices and flash different custom ROMs on them.     Which Galaxy Note 5 version gets support first? The Note 5 showed up officially mid-August and it is already available for purchase in many places of the world. The Note series remains one of the more popular phablet lines out there, and this can only mean that some owners will want to root and mod their device to their liking.   Team Win’s Recovery project custom recovery will allow users to mod their Note 5 as they see fit. Keep in mind that this official support version is available for the GSM Samsung Galaxy Note 5 version, which means that if your device is carrier-locked, this will not work for you. The download is available in the source link below.   Source: TWRP

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 breaks when you insert the S Pen backwards

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 owners beware! According to various reports, your stylus may very well be what destroys your phablet, if you are not being attentive enough with it. Reinserting the Note’s stylus into the phone the wrong way can lead to disabling its stylus detection software. This basically means that, if you insert the S Pen back into its slot the wrong way, you may damage your smartphone completely. You would not be able to take notes when the screen is off and the S Pen radial menu will not work anymore.       Some sites report that wiggling the S Pen in the slot the right way may solve the issue. But we don’t advise you to attempt this. Your Samsung Galaxy Note 5 may really suffer if you try to prove a point by damaging it.   With previous models, the S Pen was much easier to manage in terms of proper placement. The Note 5 has a differently shaped stylus pen though; it has the same shape for its entire length, and it can be pushed into the phone both ways. When there is no physical resistance to warn that you are doing something wrong, the risk of shoving the pen down the slot wrong end first will increase.   Samsung does not want to find a solution to this apparent problem, so you will have to be careful with your new Note and use it as described in the user manual.   Source: TheVerge

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 leaked just before the Unpacked event

Samsung is really really close to unveiling its newest smartphones today but one of them has already been leaked. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has just appeared in a set of real photos courtesy of Nowhereelse.fr and the details promise a pretty finished design. Rumor is this is a dummy version that will be displayed in shops, but it should fully replicate the phablet.     Galaxy Note 5 possible details   The handset is shown off in white and gold and even if we don’t actually know anything much, we can see how it looks from every angle. It appears that there will not be a microSD slot, as expected, and the pen slot is found in the bottom corner of the smartphone.       Rumors say the Note 5 will be powered by an Exynos 7420 or a 7422 processors aided by 4GB of RAM and a 16MP camera.   Samsung will reveal more details about the Note 5 in just a few hours at the Unpacked event and we will keep you posted as we find out more.   Source: Irishexaminer

Samsung accidentally leaks Galaxy S6 Edge Plus

Samsung has a major event going on the day after tomorrow, but one of its most precious new entries has already been accidentally revealed. The most important devices rumored to make an appearance at the August 13th event are the Galaxy Note 5 and Edge 6 Plus, and the second one has been already revealed.       Samsung’s new curved phablet is indeed a larger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge as it boosts the screen to 5.5 inches. The Galaxy Note 5 is rumored to have a 5.7 inch screen, which means you will have lots of sizes to choose from when you pick your device, along with the already established S6 flagships.   The info comes from the French Samsung site, where a pre-order page for the Edge S6 + has been released. The device seems to be paired with a headset and three months of Google play music for free. This appears to be a limited offer to possible customers who pre-order between the 21st of August and September 4th.   Even if the writing is rather small, we can discern that the new screen size is on its way to the phablet. Samsung will be holding the Unpacked event in two days and it’s almost a given that the Edge 6 + and the Note 5 will be presented then and there. We will just have to wait for a few more hours.   Source: Irishexaminer
