Samsung Galaxy S7 renders appear online – could the 2016 flagship really look like this?

Samsung Galaxy S7 may have leaked in some very revealing photos earlier today and there’s even a video of it out there! Its official release is still a long way away, but that does not mean that the internet and its snitches will not show us everything there is to know about a device beforehand.

Samsung Galaxy S7

The released images show a Galaxy S7 pretty similar in shape and form to Galaxy Note 5. In order to make the device look thinner, its corners are curved inwards on the back of the device. The S7 Edge variant should be the same with the exception that its edges would point up front. We don’t have an official spec list yet, but speculation runs amok.

Here’s what we know about Samsung Galaxy S7:

  • 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with 1440 x 2560p (Quad HD)
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, Samsung Exynos 8890
  • 4 GB RAM
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow
  • 20MP back camera with 4K video recording features
  • 8MP front camera
  • 3,500 mAh battery
  • 16/32/64 GB storage with microSD slot (possibly)
  • fingerprint scanner
  • force touch pressure-sensitive panel under the display
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 5 front and back panels, curved glass edges on the rear
  • dimensions: 143.4 x 70.8 x 6.9mm.

The video above was published by 3D designer Jermaine Smit, who says that he based his images on the leaked designs of Samsung Galaxy S7. The images in this article are also based on Smit’s 3D designs – they are not photos. Expect the real device to make an appearance at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which takes place between 22 and 25 February 2016.

[The rumor mill] Samsung Galaxy S7 to have 5.7″ display with 12MP camera

Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to launch in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and this can only mean that rumors regarding the device are starting to pour in. A photo recently posted online shows some of the specifications for the device – one of the few variants Samsung will reportedly launch.

If this photo is true, Samsung Galaxy S7 would be a replacement for Galaxy S6 Edge +. The new smartphone has a 5.7-inch 2560×1440 display but we do not know yet if the said display will be flat or curved.

Some rumors put the original S7 at a flat 5.2-inch display with the Edge variant sporting a 5.5-inch curved display.

Among the leaked specs we found are the 12.2 MP rear camera and a 5MP frontal snapper. This is a drop from the 16MP sensor on the Galaxy S6, but the decrease could be explained by a better-quality sensor with larger pixels that would perform better in low-light conditions. S7 is also said to sport 4GB of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip. Possibilities also include a pressure-sensitive screen, a retina scanner and an USB Type-C port.

Samsung Galaxy A9 details leak out! Here’s what the high-mid-range device is all about!

Samsung Galaxy A9 just leaked today and it seems that the Samsung security department should be more careful because yesterday it was the Galaxy S7 Plus renders, today is another device and tomorrow it could be their world domination plans for all we know.

Galaxy A9 leak

Batteries are at the core of devices and they have become a common problem lately because of various situations. First, batteries became non-replaceable, now smartphones are getting thinner and thinner and batteries are getting smaller and smaller. It appears that Samsung decided to go against the trend this time as the next Galaxy A flagship device will have a significantly bigger battery.

Samsung Galaxy A9 details leaked in some documents and, thanks to Phandroid, we can tell you what’s what. A9 has mid-range specs with a high-end finish and it is powered by a much larger battery than other devices.

Possible Galaxy A9 specs:

  • 6-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display
  • Snapdragon 620 processor
  • 3GB RAM
  • 13MP primary camera
  • 4,000 mAh battery
  • Android 5.1.1.

The only possible letdown for this device is the OS it comes packed with; we were hoping for Android 6.0 Marshmallow by the time the smartphone launches, but it seems we will have to settle with Lollipop. This device will be part of the line of A devices which includes the previously announced A7, A5 and A3.

A9 also includes a fingerprint scanner in order to give support to Samsung Pay. All things considered, the device is a pretty high-end looking smartphone with a mid-range processor.

Now comes the bad news, as the device will launch in China in January and there is no release date for the rest of the world. The price tag is set at CNY 3,000.

Samsung sends invitations to its event at MWC on March 1st

Samsung is sending its invites for MWC which means it is bound to launch or at least announce its next flagship there, right? Samsung is joining HTC in a rather cryptic image in expectation to this year’s Mobile World Convention. It booked a large room center too, a sign that it is presenting something rather big to the public.

Samsung will be presenting its gadget in the large Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona on March 1st at 18.30 CET which means it is bound to launch something big that most people believe will be Samsung Galaxy S6. Some say that Galaxy S Edge will be making an appearance as well; if you don’t remember the S Edge, it’s that phone with a curved screen on the side of the display.

Some leaks suggest that both phones will show up and they will be rather expensive. One explanation can be the 32GB stock initial option and the better battery life and capacity.

Galaxy Note Edge is the most expensive phone on the market right now, which means that S Edge will be even more expensive because of the larger production costs and the double curved edges of course.
