New Nexus 5 2015 images and details leak, including possible launch date

New Nexus 5 2015 images and details have surfaced today, including the launch date of said device. LG’s new Nexus device will launch soon and some of the rumors are proving to be correct. Its official launch date seems to be September 29th. The Huawei Nexus device was not mentioned, but it is expected that Google will launch both devices at the same time. The information was not publicly confirmed by official sources though, so take everything with a pinch of salt.

China’s Weibo site says that the new Nexus 5 will have a 5.2-inch display with a 2K resolution, a Snapdragon 808 processor plus 3 GB of RAM. If the rumors and leaks are true, the device will come packed with a 13MP Sony-made IMX278 sensor with OIS and a 5MP front snapper.

LG Nexus 5 spec

Some speculate that Google will launch two Nexus devices this year, as suggested by LG and Huawei device leaks. LG is reportedly working on a new Nexus 5 while Huawei is making a new Nexus 6. The details above suggest that Nexus 5 will not have top-of-the-line specs, which in turn could mean that it will have a good competitive price. This could solve last year’s mistake with the Nexus 6 pricing which hurt Google Nexus sales. We shall see which leaks and rumors are true at the end of next month.

Huawei Nexus phone leaks in new photos!

Huawei Nexus phone (possibly) leaks again! After the leak of the LG Nexus device set to launch sometime this year, it is its sibling’s turn as new photos surface. Google+user Tiessen Fu recently posted three photos of a device with the Nexus logo on it. The bonus is the Huawei logo sitting next to it.

Huawei Nexus render

In the photos you can see the front and back of the Huawei Nexus device, plus a protective case. The back presents a circular cut which is probably the fingerprint reader. It looks exactly as the one in the LG Nexus leaks. The previous Huawei renders were rather accurate because the device does indeed have the oblong panel where the camera and flash are.

The G+ user says that the leaks were sent to him by a friend and the QQ labels imply that they were sent to him over the Tencent QQ instant messaging system. Since Huawei is situated in China, this explanation seems sound.

Specs and possibilities: Huawei Nexus

Recent leaks have addressed the tech specs details, and some include a 5.4 – inch screen with a Snapdragon 810 processor and a 3500 mAh battery. But, as usual, everything should be taken in with a grain of salt because this data cannot be officially verified at this point.

We won’t have to wait THAT long since usually Google launches its OS update along with some interesting Nexus devices. Fall is nearly upon us, and this is usually the time when Google takes out its ace from the sleeve. We just have to wait for a little while longer.

Edit: there’s even more photos leaking out there! Huawei Nexus, codenamed Angler, is indeed sporting a Snapdragon 810 processor and it appears to have 64GB  of storage. Here it is:

Nexus smartphones for 2015 from Huawei and LG leak again!

The rumors and leaks for the new Nexus smartphones have been many, but none can exceed the awesomeness level of the render of the Huawei Nexus and the photo of the LG Nexus that appeared on the Internet. After some incipient renders were leaked last week, new documents seem to hit the Internet, which can only mean that the devices will be announced soon.

The premium Huawei Nexus device showed in a render below is coming from USwitch. It appears that the device will be clad in a metallic body with a bulging top side where the rear camera is.

For reference, the LG device presents a camera in the middle of the top side. These Nexus smartphones are quite different, at least when it comes to their looks.

Minuscule protruding glass panels at the top and bottom are also said to exist on the device. The rear camera has a dual-LED flash module but there is no autofocus sensor in sight. The fingerprint sensor is shaped like a circle in the middle of the back.

LG Nexus 2015 has the same fingerprint sensor on the back, as seen in the below photo leaked by Marques Brownlee. The leaked device is a white-colored smartphone with a protruding camera on the back with a dual-LED flash and laser autofocus. There is also a Nexus logo presented on the back of the device, same as with previous models.

Possible specs for the Nexus smartphones?

Some of the leaked specs of the new Nexus Devices present interesting tech specs. The LG Google Nexus 5 2015 reportedly has a 5.2-inch display and is 8mm slim. Some AnTuTu benchmarks put the device at the top of the list for 2015 with a claimed score of 85530, the highest so far.

The Huawei Nexus is said to have a 5.7-inch display, front-facing speakers, USB Type-C, and the fingerprint scanner as well.

It is not official at the moment when Google will announce the devices, but, as we previously said, the release date can’t be far away. Last year the new Nexus smartphones were launched in October along with Android Lollipop, therefore it is expected that the new Nexus devices will make an official appearance as late as October.

New Nexus devices leaked once again! LG and Huawei sign on the manufacturing aspect of things

New Nexus devices are close to being announced as leaks about them start to spread on the interwebs. If you liked your Nexus 5, but it already feels a little old, fret no more, as not one but two manufacturers are working on creating two new Google line devices. Huawei and LG are working on a Nexus 6-style phablet device and a smaller smartphone to attract the Nexus 5 crowd.

Nexus

Similar leaks have spread on the Internet a few days ago but now @OnLeaks Twitter account seems to shed some more light on these handsets. Considering that they were pretty accurate on previous occasions, this should count as a very possible outcome for the new Android devices.

This is what we know about the new Nexus devices

After a one year break, LG is back to working with Google and a new smartphone may come out of this combination. The new device should have a 5.2 inch display with two front-facing speakers and a rear fingerprint sensor. The icing on the cake should be the USB Type-C connector. There should be a protruding camera on the back, plus a much longer device compared to the Nexus 5, in part due to the frontal speakers.

The second device is made by Huawei and it reportedly has a 5.7 inch 2560 x 1440 p display that design-wise is narrower than its Nexus 6 counterpart. It should have a metal body, making it resemble an iPhone 6 Plus. Inside there should be a Snapdragon 820 to make things interesting. This device should also have the rear fingerprint scanner, the front-facing speakers and the USB Type-C port.

Both nexus devices will launch with the most recent Android OS version, a clean one with no bloatware. There is still no news on the official announcement, a price and availability for the two devices, but it is coming soon, we hope.

Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 specs possibly leaked in China

There may be some new Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 devices coming at us this year, maybe as soon as next month. This is why some rumors have already spread and there are even some very detailed leaks floating around on the Interwebs. One of these leaks comes from GizmoChina where the specs for the new Google devices may have been exposed.

Nexus

The new LG Nexus 5 phone is rumored to have a 5.2” 1080p P-OLED screen and it will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 620 processor accompanied by up to 4 GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage with no microSD slot support. It will have a non-removable 3180 mAh battery, a 13MP camera on the back with an f/1.8 aperture lens and optical image stabilization, plus a 4MP front camera.

There is also a rumor regarding the fingerprint scanner located into a rear power button, but nothing is really sure yet.

The Nexus 5 should have an aluminum frame and chamfered edges plus a plastic back cover and front-facing stereo speakers.

Nexus 6 2nd edition – premium feel at an affordable price

The other leaked device, a Huawei Nexus – possibly a new Nexus 6 – has a 5.7” WQHD AMOLED display with a Snapdragon 620 (or possibly a Snapdragon 808/820). It is rumored to present a unibody design made of metal plus a 21MP primary camera and Rezence/WiPower wireless charging features.

Both devices are supposed to charge wirelessly and via quick charging and they support NFC. The new Nexus 5 should cost around $300-400, whereas the other device should be a little more expensive.

You should take this news with a grain or two of salt, as GizmoChina did not reveal a source for this information, which means some of it can be fake. If it is accurate though, this could present some interesting new devices to the flagship market.

Paranoid Android 5.1update released, future updates to be less frequent

Paranoid Android 5.1 has finally arrived to select smartphones, but future updates will take even longer to get here. PA is one of the more popular custom ROMs out there, meaning many people will be happy to know that they can try a build based on the most recent AOSP version.

Paranoid Android

This version took some time to get baked, and this can only mean that future iterations will take just as much or even more time to come out. Some of the Paranoid Android contributors and team members moved to OnePlus and some fresh air needs to blow in order for new changes to be made faster. The project itself is already moved from a weekly release schedule to a “release when appropriate” timetable.

PA 5.1

Paranoid Android 5.1 is now available for the newer Nexus smartphones and tablets. The Nexus 10 did not make the list because the team members don’t have one to test on.
