LG unveils new 5.5 inch QHD LCD screen – a real game-changer for the industry

LG is back to work and just announced a new 5.5” LCD screen for its G4. Last year’s G3 had a nice 2560x1440p LCD screen with nice sharpness, but that’s about it, since colors and brightness were not the best of the bunch. This year’s flagship will have it all, as LG says, because a new and improved screen could solve ALL the problems.       The new screen has the same 1440p resolution at an incredible 538 pixel per inch density. The new LCD screen should have more vibrant colors and 120% sRGB color gamut. The contrast is said to be 50% higher than LG G3’s panel and the brightness is improved by 30% without draining more energy. The new Advanced In-Cell Touch technology increases accuracy and reduces thickness because of its ingenious combination of touch sensors with the LCD. This would make the screen usable even when you’ll have water droplets obstructing the view. The smartphone is not expected to be waterproof though. LG G4 will launch sometime this month, on April 28th, when they will hold the “leathery” event in London, Paris and New York and on April 29th, when the event will take place in Seoul, Singapore and Istanbul.     [box type=”shadow”] LG Display Launches 5.5-inch QHD LCD Panel for Smartphones to Achieve a Quantum Jump in Color Gamut and Brightness Display incorporates Perfect Touch Sensitivity   Seoul, Korea (April, 3 2015) – LG Display, the world’s leading innovator of display technologies, announced today that it has launched a […]

LG may deny Snapdragon 810 in favor of 808 for LG G4

It seems that LG may choose to pass on Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor in favor of a more conservative chipset in the form of 808s Snapdragon chip. More than one benchmark for devices not on the market yet show up on the interwebs and while some are real, most are counterfeit. Such is the problem with one leaked benchmark for a device codenamed F500x which is in fact LG G4 as we cannot be positive it is the real deal.     The device shows up with a surprising spreadsheet which does not include an 810 Snapdragon chip. The details – a hexa-core CPU with an Adreno 418 – show the combination found only on the 808s chip that was not released yet. It could be possible that LG will ship G4s with both chips, each chosen depending on the market.     Snapdragon 810 is under lots of fire lately, especially after the Samsung S6 scandal and the launch of HTC One M9 at MWC, and the next best choice LG can make at the moment with Qualcomm parts is 808, especially considering that 815 and 820 are far away in the future still. New LG G4 render shows up on Twitter – see what the new LG flagship may look like

LG G4 render made its appearance on Twitter today, and it appears that the new wave of leaks has already begun. @OnLeaks, the account created by the owner of Nowhereelse.fr, is responsible for this leak, and since they were right about the HTC One M9, they could be right about this one too.     Some details regarding the device have surfaced thanks to the same source, and it appears that LG’s new flagship will have the following dimensions 148.9 x 76.5 x 9.9mm and its back will be removable. The smartphone keeps its main design features, including the back buttons. It’s a given fact that, usually, manufacturers don’t change that much on their devices year after year in order to preserve their established brand and to minimize costs. We will find out soon if this leak is real or not, but be prepared to see many many for these following weeks. Source:@onleaks
