Instagram update to finally bring multiple account feature to Android

Instagram has been flirting with multiple account support and now that is finally starting to become real to more and more users. A while back, the app got multiple account support for some users, but it was rapidly removed. Now the feature is back and it is here to stay.       Instagram announced today via a post that the new feature is officially in full effect. In order to get it, you will need the v7.15 update. The multiple account feature is beautifully involved into the app. You are able to add a new account from the settings menu and in order to switch between existing accounts all you have to do is tap the drop-down menu on your profile page. Your profile photo will appear throughout the app so that you know which account you are using at any given time. This change will basically make your life easier by letting you switch between a personal and a professional account at any given time.   You can download the Instagram app from the Google Play Store widget below. Will this new feature help you in any way? Let us know in the comment section below!

Boomerang from Instagram – for when you make GIFs for Insta!

GIFs are common knowledge right now, but that does not mean they are available on every social media platform out there. Enter Boomerang from Instagram, a companion app for the Instagram platform that should redefine the meaning of GIFs.     What are GIFs?   Google’s automatic stringing of similar looking photos into one small video-like file are exported as a GIF. For Apple they’re named Live Photos and now, for Instagram and Facebook, they will become Boomerangs.     Why is Boomerang better?   Boomerang from Instagram comes a few good months after Layout, another release aimed at giving users a way to change their photos the same way they alter them on Instagram itself. This new semi-video app lets users shoot ten photos with one single press of a button that are then transformed into a mini video that you can later post on Insta or Facebook. You can also export your video-like GIFs to other apps by using the share menu as well.   If you are intrigued, you can give the app a look below. Who knows, maybe in the near future we will replace those everyday selfies with everyday GIFs!

Instagram update to v6.20.0 with three new filters and emoji hashtags

Crucial news ahead, folks! Instagram gets an update to version v6.20.0 and the new things you get are hashtag emojis and three new filters. That means you have three new ways to twist the colors in your photos before uploading them. Considering the fact that we don’t get new filters very often, this little update means business to those addicted to Instagram.     The new filters are on the subtle side and are named Juno, Reyes and Lark. Juno shifts cool colors to green while making the warm tones pop and the white colors glow for vibrant photos. Reyes makes your photos look vintage or dusty whereas Lark intensifies blues and greens and desaturates reds in order to bring life into landscapes. The other “big” improvement is including emojis in hashtags. It appears these things are everywhere now, and they may just conquer all of the internet. Instagram just passed 500 million subscribers and it celebrates by announcing Layout – a new photo-editing app

Instagram just managed to exceed 500 million installs and it’s a feat as few Google Play apps can brag about reaching such a milestone. The others are Google, Facebook, Samsung and Microsoft. Slowly but steadily, Everyone’s new favorite photo sharing app is becoming a really popular social media platform!     To celebrate this achievement, the platform announced Layout, a collage app that takes photos from your gallery and arranges them in a fun fashion. Mobile photographers now have a second option when it comes to making a low-res photo look like something much better. In order to stop other apps on the market, now Instagram decided to take a stand and make its own software you can use. In order to change different parts of the collage (snip, rotate, resize or drag) you can tap, pinch, twist or pull your fingertips on the screen. The result can be shared on their Instafeeds. The app is already available on Apple Store, but it will be a few more months before it makes its appearance on Google Play.   [googleplay url=”https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.instagram.android”]   Source: Instagram blog

Instagram reveals Hyperlapse – the app that makes the best quality time-lapse videos

Instagram reveals Hyperlapse, the app that allows you to take the best videos and photos yet! And you won’t have to change your device either! Smartphone users can now shoot time-lapse videos that look much more stable than before and that even resemble professional videos. The app does not have filters or editing tools as you simply record a video and choose the speed you want it to play back at. A 1x speed will result in a pretty clear image and a decent looking video whereas choosing a 12x speed will lead to a usual time-lapse track. Users can choose to save their video or share it with friends on Instagram and Facebook. The Apple release will release very soon on the Appstore whereas the Android version will have to wait a little longer for updates on the Camera APIs.  Source: Instagram [wdsm_ad id=”1484″ class=” ” ]
