AT&T recently teased the Galaxy S6 Active on Twitter, which can only mean that we are bound to see it in stores sooner rather than later. The US carrier has been hinting at launching a workout-friendly handset soon, and that can be the S6 Active, if we are to believe rumors and leaks.
“Only one thing is missing from your workout. It’s almost time to activate your full power.” Nice word-play AT&T! There’s a cropped picture showing you what the device looks like if it was an orange block, but recent leaks show its real flavor too.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Active should relate to the S6 line in terms of specs, with an Exynos 7420 processor, 3 GB or RAM and at least 32GB of storage encouraged by a 16MP camera. On top of all of that you also get the much desired water and dust resistant design plus physical nav buttons.
Following in Note 3’s steps, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 from T Mobile is also getting the Lollipop Android treatment starting today. The device is finally joining its siblings from AT&T, US Cellular, Verizon and Sprint.
The device gets to version N910TUVU1COD6 and the support page is updated with the firmware download link. Note 4 is brought to kernel version 3.10.40-4739134.
In order to update your favorite Samsung phablet you will need at least 50% battery life, a WiFi connection and some space for the 1100MB you will be downloading. You can also download the file manually via Samsung Kies HERE.
Samsung galaxy Tab A is Samsung’s attempt at classy-ing up a budget tablet. It has a metal chassis and 4:3 aspect ratio and it is on its way to the US. The device will be available to Americans starting May 1st and it will be found on the likes of HH Gregg, Amazon and Best Buy first.
As its category says, this budget device does not excel when it comes to specifications. It runs on a Cortex A-53 processor running at 1.2 GHz with 2 GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage.
There’s a 8” option and a 9.7” version, both owning a 5MP camera and running on 1024 x 768p resolution. If you are not disturbed by the low pixel density, the 8” version sells for $230 and the bigger version sells for $300. Both versions will be available in white, smoky titanium and blue. You can already place a pre-order if you really want one of these.
A different Galaxy Tab A 9.7” option with an included S Pen will sell for $350 starting May 17th.
Each device comes with Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint plus 100 GB of OneDrive for the next two years. (Yeah, yeah, we get it; Samsung partnered with Microsoft to preload the latter’s software.)

We’re just a few days ahead of the MWC in Barcelona and we may have just seen the first real Samsung S6 renders thanks to AT&T and T Mobile. Even if teaser images have been all over the place lately, these two may just be the best of the bunch so far.
The two images are identical, the only definitively different aspect being the device color. This being a profile shot, it is very difficult to realize whether this is the Edge version with two wrap-around screens or a regular device. The silhouette does reminisce of Galaxy Note though, and we can’t figure out if the cover is metallic or plastic yet. But we will definitely find out soon.
The “Six Appeal “images don’t reveal anything else except for a physical button and the Samsung logo. More details will follow at MWC in a few days.
Hunger Games fans rejoice! If you recently bought a Galaxy Tab S, Galaxy Tab Pro, Galaxy Note Pro, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4 you can download the Hunger Games Movie pack from Google Play Store and follow its instructions in order to get some free movies. Nothing says Merry Christmas like watching teenagers literally killing each other in HD!
After you install the app you will have to tap 2 to get to the second menu item and there you can tap the > button you will find above Watch Movies. There you can tap on either movie and you will get a promotional message with a Google redemption code. After you tap the given code you will see an IAP-like window with the movie available in HD for free. When you finally redeem the screen you will tie it to your account and after that you will be able to watch it on your device, on Chromecast, on the web or other devices where you can access Google Play Movies.
The rest of the Hunger Games app is pretty ok itself as it presents the usual trailers and custom icons, links for the novels and copies of screenplays. A few non-Samsung devices are supported too, like Nexus 6 for example, but they are really in a limited number. In case you are looking for more free movies on Google Play, you may find X Men, Gravity or Lord of the rings and other titles depending on what country you live in.
