Samsung launches Galaxy A3 and A5, two new thinner phones made of metal! Even if the market is full of thin phones already, the trend seems to be more and more exigent in the attempt to make smartphones as slim as possible. Samsung’s thinnest mobiles yet are not only slim, but also designed in metal unibody frames.
Galaxy A3 it the thicker one at 6.9mm, whereas A5 is slimmer with its 6.7mm frame. Both devices are much slimmer than iPhone6 for example (6.9mm) and Galaxy S5 with its 8.1mm frame.
Galaxy A3 has a 4.5” qHD Super AMOLED display with an 8MP rear-camera and a 5 MP front snapper. Inside, you will find a 1.2 GHz quad core processor with 1 GB of RAM and 16GB storage space plus microSD slot. It is powered by a 1900 mAh battery.
Samsung A5 has a larger screen – 5” Super AMOLED display – with a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash. Under the slim hood you will find a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor paired with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal memory plus a microSD slot. It is powered by a 2300mAh battery.
Both devices will launch with Android KitKat 4.4.4.
In order to fight HTC’s Eye experience, Samsung is throwing in some of its own camera features, including:
- Wide selfie
- Palm selfie
- Rear-cam selfie
- Beauty face features
- Animated GIF.
Both devices will be available in colors such as: Soft Pink, Platinum Silver, Pearl White, Midnight Black, Light Blue, and Champagne Gold. They will go on sale on select markets starting November.
