Republic Wireless will be selling the new Motorola Moto X come December 10th at the price of $399. This means $100 less than the regular off-contract price coming straight from the Sprint MVNO.
Modifications were made to support WiFi/ cellular handoffs which means the device is destined for customers on a budget and old or already owned devices cannot be brought to Republic as Republic devices cannot be carried over to other US carriers either.
Republic Wireless’ Moto X will be upgraded to Android 4.4.4 and it will get an update to Lollipop soon enough considering it has to integrate de hybrid calling feature into the new OS. The basic version of the device will be sold directly and through Moto Maker.
