Pepsi aficionados rejoice! If you love everything that your favorite soda company is throwing at you, you would love their next concoction: Pepsi Phone P1. That’s right, the company is working on creating a smartphone! And it may come out much better looking and functioning that the likes of Amazon and Facebook offerings!
The bad side of this news is that the smartphone will only launch in China and there are little chances it will pass the Chinese borders. It does pack somewhat of impressive specs for its price, which is around $200. It is built and looks much like an iPhone, although it does retain some personal charm.
Here are some of the most important Pepsi Phone P1 specs:
- 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5D display
- 2GB of RAM
- 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor
- Mali 450-MP4 GPU
- 16GB internal storage plus MicroSD slot
- dual SIM
- 13MP rear camera plus 5MP frontal camera
- android 5.1 Lollipop with a custom UI
- fingerprint sensor
- 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, WiFi 802.1 b/g/n
- 3,000 mAh battery.
Pepsi Phone P1 is being developed by a Chinese manufacturer and this is all happening thanks to a crowd funding campaign in China. There were various cheaper tiers available early on, but those were depleted pretty quickly. If the phone hits its funding goal of 3,000,000 Yuan or $470,000 by December 3rd, the device will launch officially with a special variant ready for China Unicom.
Pepsi Phone P1 is not expected to launch outside of China, but we can only hope, right? It may not be flagship material, but for the hardware spec list it has, it could become a great premium-looking alternative to expensive phones. Now what will be Coca-Cola’s move?
