Nexus 9 is about to be officially announced tomorrow, and its official launch may be sometime in November. The new Nexus tablet from Google will have an 8.9” screen and it will run on the newest Android OS version, of course. At the moment it is codenamed Volantis (Game of Thrones, anyone?) and according to the latest Forbes reports, it will be seen tomorrow at Nexus 6’s launch.
According to Forbes, a new blog post from tomorrow will show the Nexus 9 along with the new Android L OS. It is supposed to be the first device ever to run on Android L, which makes us even more curious in regards to its specs.
The new Nexus 9 tablet is made by HTC which means it will have some HTC-esque features such as the Boomsound front-facing speakers. The device may have an origami-style stand case similar to those found on Kindle Fire tablets.
There were no disclosed bits of information regarding the hardware specs of the Nexus 9, but Forbes sources say it will go on sale as soon as November 3rd.
Rumors say that the new Nexus tablet will have the following specs:
- 8.9” IPS LCD with 1920x1200p
- NVIDIA Tegra K1 Denver 64-bit processor
- 32 GB storage on board with a microSD slot
- 8 MP primary camera with a 1.6 MP front sensor.
Nexus 9 16 GB version is speculated to sell for $399, whereas the 32 GB version will have the $499 price tag on.
