AT&T’s LG G3 is getting in on the Lollipop sweetness with an update to Android 5.0.1. The device now has build number LRX21Y dated October 2014 and it brought the software version to D85020f.

The OTA is around 689MB which means you should connect to a Wi-Fi network rather than appeal to AT&T’s snail-moving data and update server. Once you get the package, it will take around 5 minutes to install. Among the new improvements you will find a revamped notification shade and a lock screen much more similar to the stock Android version on Nexuses. There are, of course, new software navigation button icons to better immerse you in the Lollipop experience.

It appears that LG did not implement Android’s native multiuser mode but rather kept the guest mode system active. You will experiment a new device setup experience, improved face unlock, screen pinning, better Bluetooth device unlock and per-app notification controls as well.

In case your phone does not recognize an update, you can try switching the date a few days forward and try the update button again.
